Impossible to hide or run away
The invisible cord that joins us together throbs unwaveringly
Fleeing is not an option as the bond is beyond our control
It was made many lifetimes ago between our souls
We suffer from physical constraints that
If given power bring fear into the purity of our union
But our tie remains strong, luminous and alive
…always
In my naivety, I shared too much
Sure of you, sure of our love
Forgetting the fears and doubts of those
Who cannot feel the pulsing force that breathes between us
Nor understand the evidence
Of our need for each other
In this lifetime and the next
For eternity…
Last night I traversed the desert
Tracked by the dark trepidation of terror
expelling our love with its obscurity
groping desperately for the familiar warmth and throb of you
Please forgive me for the moment’s doubt
That stung your heart disbelievingly
I want never to pain you, for your pain is mine
Our love is the strength that banishes all that is not.
With the dawn, the familiar feel of our union in my belly is back
Fear conquered and a newfound animal-like instinct
To protect our love, for only we can grasp the
Deep need for it to penetrate our skins and become sacredly real
Without the fear that was not mine
Heart to heart for infinity in timeless love
Across space and time, we will dance together
Forever, the gypsy and the merchant
Our physical lives know not of each other’s worlds
You with ..’and sons’ after your name, a solid base
That traverses generations, a wife and family, home and
Social standing.
Me, a butterfly with a damaged wing, my family a mish-mash of
Cosmic beings, met and loved along the way
No fixed estate, rootless and free
I wait for the universe to point out the route…again
But I feel no worries in these divergences
The world is small and our love knows no boundaries
My heart commits to you and the precious moments
We will share, suspended in time and space.
We can nourish a love that flies free from day to day worries
Unattached from contracts and dues
That wraps itself solidly, momentarily around us
Strong enough to traverse the oceans until the next space opens in time.
